Dear Friends,
Melinda (Mary's younger sis) is updating me on her progress and here is the latest! Mary had a CAT scan to determine her progress and it showed more improvement than expected. Yea!!
The doctors continue to keep her off dialysis as much as possible and are still working to see if they can get her kidneys going again.

Keep praying and Thank the Good Lord for her progress.

Dear Friends,
I was with Mary yesterday and Sunday and am very happy to report that she looks really good, is able to move her left hand just a bit and the Doctors are saying there is a bit better (20%) chance of her kidneys working. The doctors say that she has a good chance of regaining control of her left side.

She is in the Trinity Hospital (the Rehab portion of Detar, same address) and in a regular private room. The nurses seem to be very good and caring.

I am sure this would not be the case without all the prayers. God does indeed take notice and intervene when ardent prayers are sent to him. Keep up the good work and God Bless You!

Dear Friends,
Good news! Melinda (youngest sister) IM today says "Praise the Lord!". Mary is in a new quieter room and the doctor says she now has a 20% chance of her kidney's working instead of the 5% he was projecting earlier. He is stopping dialysis until he sees the need! She gently squeezed the doctor's hand with her left hand today!!

Your prayers matter! Please keep up the great prayer effort!

Dear Friends,
Yesterday Mary was sore and tired. Her levels went up and she was dialysized. Mary will need to make it through some tiring and scary rehabilitation. Please continue to pray for healing for Mary's kidneys and courage for the difficult rehab.

Dear Friends,
Mary is doing good this morning. She had a good night's sleep. The neurologist says she is about the same. The Nephrologist (kidney guy) is again taking her off dialysis to see if her kidneys will work on their own. Her levels were down today which is good. The doctor is hopeful and there is a small chance her kidneys will start working. She will be moved today to a rehab area.

Please pray (hard!) for Mary's kidneys to begin working, for her spirits to be positive and for Melinda (her youngest sister who has stayed with her continuously) to be strengthened and blessed.

Wednesday, June 10th

Dear Friends,
Mary is a bit tired today and is having dialysis this morning. The neurologist was encouraged that she has a bit more range in her left eye. They are planning to move her to an acute care floor for about 3 weeks and then she will be reevalutated for the next step.
Please keep praying for a miracle for Mary's kidneys, the quick recovery of her left side and for comfort and courage during all this for both her and her family.

Welcome to Mary Ottis Health blog

Dear Friends,
I will try to keep everyone updated on Mary's progress since it appears that some information seems to be getting out that isn't correct. First, thanks so much for everyone's prayers! As you likely know, Mary was ill for about 3 weeks and was in the Bay City emergency room last Thursday night. She had complete renal failure and during the time in the hospital, also suffered a stroke which has resulted in her left side becoming paralyzed. She was almost immediately moved to Detar Hospital in Victoria to the ICU and that is where she is now.
The news this morning is that she has some feeling in her left side and she is eating on her own today. The doctors believe she will eventually recover control of her left side. The doctor is taking her off of dialysis to see if her kidneys will recover at all, although they think it is a bit of a long shot. Please pray for Mary for a miracle for her kidneys and complete recovery for her paralysis.
